web pages

Granted, there's hardly any competition or searches for this phrase… but it illustrates how you can get some free traffic without putting in a ton of "sweat equity" and get some extra clicks to your affiliate page or product.

This required about 15 minutes of work… and it took Google 3 days to rank it (as far as I can tell).

So, what did I do?

1. Create a new account of hubpages using your search term, in this case: projectquickcash. However, this name was taken, so I used projectquickcash1.

2. Create a hub using:

  • keyword phrase in the title - for this hub I used "project quick cash"
  • keyword phrase in the hub address - in this case it is: Project-Quick-Cash-Reviews
  • Use Relevant Tags - here I used the keyword phrase as well as related keywords, which in this case were: Project Quick Cash Reviews, Alok Jain, Alok Jain's Project Quick Cash (and a couple of more)
  • Use several text blocks - break up your article to be used in multiple text blocks.

3. I linked to my Project Quick Cash Review page on this blog within the content

4. I linked to it from one of my blogs for 24 hours (to get it indexed).

5. I pinged my Hub using Pingomatic.com

That's about it.

By the way, if you are curious, here's my project quick cash reviews hub at hubpages.

I should mention that I rarely use HubPages, particularly as part of my Web 2.0 linking strategy (using Web 2.0 as a mini net for my money sites) as… so this is an eye-opener for me.

By the way, if you are competing for a competitive keyword you will need to create some backlinks to your hub (I would recommend writing a few articles to point to your hub) and social bookmarking the hub.

However, as a strategy to get ranked in the Search Engines for long tail keywords that appear on the first page of Google (in particular) and link directly to an affiliate page could be a decent way to get some free exposure… which hopefully translates into some sales.

In any event, I got a bit of traffic to my blog from this… so I guess it was worth the effort.
